Always dreamed of playing the harp?

Learn the harp online from anywhere in the world!

Virtual Little Harp Social brings the joy of learning the harp into your own home. Designed by international harpist and teacher Keziah Thomas, this friendly online course has helped complete beginners discover a beautiful new hobby, wherever they live.

The level 1 online course consists of 10 weekly classes and you will be sent a 15 string lap harp to use during the course.

By the end of the course you'll be able to play ten beautiful pieces on the harp, understand the fundamentals of good technique, and perform along with specially recorded backing tracks for friends and family.

Lessons take place live online in a relaxed and encouraging small group environment, so you'll learn alongside other beginners and enjoy supporting each other's progress.

No previous musical experience is needed. If you've never read music before, you can also join an optional weekly practical music reading class designed especially for complete beginners.

Many students continue on to Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5, gradually building their skills and repertoire as part of the Little Harp Social community.

How much does the course cost?

• The course includes ten live online group lessons, hire of a 15-string lap harp, course books, backing tracks, instructional videos to support your practice, three-month learning programme, a friendly online community and costs £400

• You can also take the course you already own a harp at a cost of £350.

• The course cost is paid in three instalments.

  Our rental scheme explained

• The course cost of £400 includes renting one of our 15 string lap harps. Your harp will be delivered before the course begins. At the end of the course we'll simply email you a prepaid return shipping link so you can send it back to us.

What is included?

• The hire of a 15 string lap harp which will be sent to you in time for the first class.

• The course book and downloadable backing tracks to practise along to at home.

• 10 weekly lessons delivered via the (free) zoom video conferencing app. (you can choose a daytime class or an evening class or you can come to both!)

• Access to the Little Harp Social Youtube channel with videos to help you practise.

What will I learn?

• Good fundamental harp technique taught by an internationally recognised teacher.

• Foundation level music theory, rhythm and note learning.

• 1 exercise and 1 piece each lesson in a wide range of celtic, classical, jazz and popular music styles with play along backing tracks.
